Ohoy!

Oh the Theatre, so every year i make a special effort to go and see a production in the open air, more often than not its a touring shakespeare production which, don't get me wrong i love, but it was good for a change to see a more easy listening production .

  I saw yesterday afternoon the production of 'Treasure Island' by Bristol Old Vic, the temporary theatre is placed just for the summer outside the old Theatre which is undergoing refurbishment on Kings Street. I unfortunately wasn't allowed to get a picture of the set as no photography was allowed by there is a scetch in the programme.

It was a lovely child and adult friendly production with many of the younger audience memberes dressed up for the ocassion  in Pirate gear of colourful hats and swords.
The play was scattered with musical intuludes, cast all very talented creating multiple endearing pirate character, the audience travel onboard the story with ease.

Long John Silver (above a scetch of his costume from the program) played by Tristan Sturrock was the star of the show is my eyes, his talent shone through: add libbing at comic oppotunity such as the sound of the police sirens and a tourist bus going bye. I knew i recognised him from somewhere as he is member of the Kneehigh Theatre Company from Cornwall who is my absolute favourite theatre company, who are performing in Bristol later on this year.

A lovely, charming production, the weather definatly helped as it was beautiful shushine. "Treasure Island" is on till August the 26th in Bristol.
