Yesterday my family and me went on a day trip to Lynmouth in Devon. Here are some pics of the day. Its a beautiful little villiage and on a sunny summer day was full on tourist with ice creams.... yummy!!!
i really love this sign it was a lovely illustration, and the iron work i always admire where ever it is, as i know have much effort goes into it.
sadly the tide was really far out so i didn't do to much rock pooling.
this was the icecream i had it was lemon meringue flavour and it was amazing!!! i usually stick to mint choc chip but this was recommended. There was also a lovely fudge sweet shop where we bought some chocolate fudge called the Tuck Shop sooo good!
The villiage is quite famous for the tragic flood that swept half the village away in August 1952 killing 34 people. When 9 inches of rain fell in 24 hours. This caused a surge of water to fall from exmoor onto lynmouth washing away buildings and devistating the villiage. There is a special centre dedicated to this full of old photographs and a scale model of the villiage.
This is a photo out of the window on the way back over the Exmoor national park.
It was a really good Summer Holiday Day Out! and the weather made it xxx
